Strike a Pose

In October 2007, In PRADO Cafe took place one of the exhibitions of the artist – «STRIKE A POSE», which caused great public interest.

A series of 30 works reflects a new regard at the artificial world of glamor. In the collages of the author you can only see poses of the fashion idols, smashed into tiny shards of glossy memories.
The unique style of the artist lies in the careful creation of art works out of the tiny pieces of glossy magazines. Each collage from a collection of «STRIKE A POSE» bears an allusion to the advertising images and the famous photo sessions and tells a story about one of the qualities of a person that was atrophied a glossy utopia.
A renowned London designer Zandra Rhodes calls art work of Daria Usova – «STRIKE A POSE», a new language in the world of art that opens people’s eyes to the artificiality of the glossy world, the illusion that is so carefully maintained by the marketers.
